Understanding the Work
Whether you’re working through this on your own or with a partner, here’s what psychosexual and relationship therapy each involve, and how they might support you.
What is Psychosexual Therapy?
Psychosexual therapy is a specific type of psychotherapy that resolves the psychological, emotional and physical issues that affect sexual pleasure and performance. It helps individuals and partners overcome issues like vaginismus, painful sex, unreliable erections, rapid or delayed ejaculation, loss of or mismatched desire, and compulsive sexual behaviour.
It can also be therapy with individuals and partners where we explore and overcome concerns related to sex and sexuality. This might include exploring sexual identity, attraction and practice, or challenges around BDSM/kink, fetishes and fantasies.
What is Relationship Therapy?
Relationship therapy is a form of talking therapy that helps partners work through difficulties in how they relate to one another, whether that's communication breakdowns, infidelity, conflict, trust, change and loss, or a sense of drifting apart. It's not only for relationships in crisis, many people come to relationship therapy simply wanting to understand their patterns better, strengthen their connection, or navigate a significant transition together.
I work with relationships of all structures and configurations, including couples, and those involving multiple partners. I hold a particular specialism in relationship diversity, working with non-monogamy, polyamory, open relationships, and kink-identified individuals and partners, and I don't pathologise any relationship structure; the work is about helping the relationship, and the people in it, function well on your own terms. Whatever the shape of your relationship, you're welcome here.

I work with any issues that might be causing you distress, uncertainty, or unhappiness related to sex and relationships. As complex humans, navigating deeply personal, possibly taboo or stigmatised sex or relationship lives, that could be almost anything. If it matters to you, it matters to me.

Frequently asked
questions
Read my most commonly asked questions and contact me below if i’ve not answered yours.
Does sex therapy include touch?
No. Sex therapy is a psychological, talking therapy and should never include physical touch.
How often do I need to attend therapy?
Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis, at the same time and day each week. This regularity supports continuity, depth of work, and the development of a consistent therapeutic space. In some cases, particularly in relationship therapy, fortnightly sessions may be appropriate, allowing time to reflect on and work with material between sessions.
Do I have to talk about my past in sex therapy, or just sex?
We will talk about whatever you feel comfortable sharing. Just as sex is more than just the things we do, sex therapy addresses the emotional, psychological and relational factors that influence sex, not just the physical ones. Often we find that talking about our past experiences help us understand our present, and our present dificulties.
Do you offer low cost sessions?
I understand that therapy is an investment and I am happy to work with you help make it affordable. I have a few lower cost places available. If you are on a low income or recieving benefits, please get in touch and I will let you know if I have any of these spaces available.
Do you work with neurodiverse people?
Absolutely. I have experience working with neurodivergent clients, including autistic people and those with ADHD, who may experience sex, intimacy and relationships differently. I also have ADHD. I I have years of experience learning how to thrive in life and love. But we're all different, so your therapy will be adapted to your communication style and sensory needs.
What happens in relationship therapy?
The first few sessions focus on gathering information about your relationship, the problems you want to overcome, how well you communicate, what’s working well, your individual backgrounds, and identifying goals for therapy.
In relationship therapy, we will:
Explore the roots of your problems, so you can identify and resolve underlying patterns of behaviour and emotional responses.
Learn ways of improving communication and dealing with conflict.
Explore your differences and what really matters to each of you, and find ways forward that feel fair and balanced.
I may also give you ‘homework’ so you can practice new skills and reinforce positive changes.
Can therapy help repair trust after a betrayal?
Yes. Therapy can help partners work through the aftermath of betrayal — whether that’s infidelity, broken agreements or emotional dishonesty.
Together we’ll explore what happened, understand the impact, and begin rebuilding trust and communication at a pace that feels right.
Do you work with non-monogamous people and relationships?
I work with individuals, couples and polycules navigating the unique challenges of consensual non-monogamy and polyamory.
I help them navigate complex dynamics, jealousy and envy, time management, hierarchy and intimacy — while building trust and mutual respect.
I have years of personal and professional experience that inform my work with open, poly, and non-monogamous people.
